Cop Failed to Catch Suspect Due to His Tesla Run Out of Battery Power

Officer’ s Tesla ran out of battery power in the middle of a high-speed chase by a police officer in California last week, reports stated Wednesday.

The cop of the Fremont Police Department was pursuing a suspect in a department-issued Tesla Model S car last Friday when he all of a sudden observed he was running low, the News channel reported.

As the officer and the suspect reached speeds of 120 miles per hour, the cop radioed that he must drop the pursuit.

“I’m right down to six miles of battery on the Tesla, so I’ll lose it here in a sec,” the cop stated on the radio, based on the report.

“If someone else is ready, can they maneuver into the primary spot?”

The car that the cop was chasing was found a short time later after it crashed into bushes, based on the report.

The driver fled the scene and authorities have been searching for him on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the police department informed news channel they’re six months into a pilot program for utilizing the electric cars in their fleet.
